Welcome to arkibber. By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What arkibber is
Arkibber is a search interface that helps you discover content hosted on the Internet Archive (archive.org). We do not host, store, or distribute any media content. All search results link directly to content on archive.org and other third-party sources.
Arkibber is not affiliated with the Internet Archive.
Acceptable use
You may use arkibber for lawful purposes only. The following uses are strictly prohibited:
- Searching for, attempting to access, or soliciting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits or endangers minors
- Searching for nonconsensual intimate imagery, including deepfakes
- Using the service to facilitate stalking, harassment, doxxing, or invasion of privacy
- Searching for instructions to commit fraud, forgery, counterfeiting, or other financial crimes
- Searching for instructions to build weapons, explosives, or other instruments of harm
- Using the service to facilitate cyberattacks, hacking, or unauthorized access to systems
- Any use that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law
Search monitoring and safety
To protect users and comply with the law, arkibber uses automated systems to classify search queries by safety category. Queries that indicate illegal intent may be blocked. We log safety-related events (such as the category and a cryptographic hash of the query) but do not store raw query text.
We reserve the right to block any search query, restrict access, or take any other action we deem necessary to enforce these terms or comply with legal obligations.
Reporting obligations
If we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material or child exploitation through use of our service, we may be required to report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline or other relevant authorities, in accordance with applicable law including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
No warranty
Arkibber is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of search results. We are not responsible for the content hosted on archive.org or any other third-party site linked from search results.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, arkibber and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed $100 USD.
Privacy
Arkibber does not require an account or collect personal information to use the search functionality. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymized usage metrics.
For search safety purposes, we may log:
- The safety category of a flagged query (e.g., “blocked”)
- A one-way cryptographic hash of the query (the original text cannot be recovered from this hash)
- Timestamps and confidence scores
We do not sell, share, or disclose this data except as required by law or to report suspected illegal activity to relevant authorities.
Third-party content
Search results link to content on archive.org and other third-party platforms. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their respective terms and policies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of arkibber after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when these terms were most recently revised.
